T4U 35MHZ RC System
This is a 4 function budget priced entry level system ideal for electric flight. There is no expensive posh box, polystyrene tray, or even instructions. As supplied the example is on mode 2. To change mode is really easy and involves transferring a spring and lever to the other stick assembly. The throttle stick tensioning arm is fixed with a single self tapping screw, and to complete this work takes no more than a couple of minutes. This small range of different RC transmitters uses the same plastic case with suitable blanking plates applied where necessary. Only this 35MHZ version has a buddy box socket on the rear, the 2.4GHZ variants do not carry this facility and the socket hole is blanked off.
Control sticks have a nice positive feel to them and return accurately. The mechanical trims are also positive with a click action ratchet to hold them. Crystal access is on the front panel as are the servo reversing slider switches. Crystals are not supplied. Radio frequency output power applied to the relatively short telescopic aerial is very healthy and compares favourably to other brands. This neat unit has a trick up its sleeve in that it has a hidden switch to apply aileron to elevator mix. The mix is fixed, being either on or off, but adequate for many flying wing type models. Access to the mix switch is top left inside the battery compartment. The transmitter is intended to be powered from AA dry cells, but a charging socket has been included for those wishing to fit NMH rechargeable cells.
The system is supplied without servos, but includes a small 6 channel single conversion 35MHZ PPM receiver housed in a hard plastic case. Basic range tests indicate the combination should provide adequate range for smaller models.
